On Saturday, May 16, 2026, both our Maryland and Pennsylvania Dar-us-Salaam community members gathered together with Imam Safi Khan, community leaders and supporters for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Al-Huda School Pennsylvania building.
Located on the waterfront by the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Pa., the new campus spans a total of 69,212 square feet and three levels, and it was purchased in late 2025 after a community-wide effort to $1.2 Million was successful. This new school building and community center offers a range of amenities to our students, staff, and local community, including a swimming pool, indoor basketball, and gym in the near future, in shaa Allah!
“Witnessing this moment is a dream and miracle come true, and a testament to Allah’s favors upon us. A year ago, the thought of purchasing this building so soon wasn’t even on our minds, but yet here we are today, standing at the grand opening of a new community center and school for our community here in Pennsylvania, and by extension for our folk in Maryland too. This just goes to show that truly Allah is enough for us. When we put our trust in Allah and exert our efforts for His sake, He can make what we thought impossible, possible, Alhamdulillah.”
— Imam Safi Khan
The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a celebratory lunch with the community to commemorate this special milestone for Al-Huda School and Dar-us-Salaam. Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising campaign and helped us secure this building — May Allah reward you for all good that comes from this, Ameen!
