Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to apply for the BOOST Scholarship?
Students must be residents of the state of Maryland and meet the income eligibility guidelines set by the state. Eligibility is determined during the application review process.
How much funding will my child receive?
Award amounts vary based on household income and available state funding. Because each family’s financial situation is different, award amounts are not determined until after the application is reviewed. This year, students received from $1600 to $6750.
Will the scholarship cover full tuition?
It may cover a portion or a significant amount of tuition, but it is not guaranteed to cover the full cost. Families should be prepared to cover any remaining balance.
How do I apply?
You can apply online using the application link provided by the school. Be sure to complete all sections and upload the required documents before the deadline. (https://msde.submittable.com/submit)
What documents are required for the application?
Families will need to provide proof of income by supplying last year’s tax returns.
I don’t have a scanner or know how to upload documents. What should I do?
We are here to support you. You may schedule an appointment with our office, and we will assist you with uploading your documents to complete your application.
When will I find out if I’ve been awarded the scholarship?
Award notifications are sent to the parents directly by the BOOST program after applications have been reviewed. Timelines may vary, so please monitor your email regularly.
What happens after I receive an award?
Once awarded, you will need to accept the scholarship by the deadline of May 8, 2026 indicated in the email and follow any next steps provided. The funds are typically applied directly toward your child’s tuition.
Can I still apply if I need help or have questions during the process?
Yes. We strongly encourage you to reach out. Our office is available to guide you through the process and ensure your application is submitted correctly.
