The Goal: Transforming Our Courtyard
Every year, Al-Huda School students participate in a school-wide fundraising competition, where each class forms a team to raise funds for a specific project. In 2021, the students raised money for a new basketball court, followed by fundraising for a soccer field in 2022. In 2023 and 2024, the focus shifted to enhancing the courtyard through a multi-phase renovation plan. With 26 teams in total, including the Hifz school, this annual event brings the entire school community together to work towards improving the school’s facilities and creating a positive impact.
This year, Al-Huda School is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an exciting fundraising campaign to transform our courtyard into a vibrant hub for students. With your generous support, we aim to raise $150,000 to create a space where students can gather, learn, and grow.

What is the Fundraising Competition?
Al-Huda school students are participating in a competition to raise money for the courtyard, as part of the annual fundraising competition. This year, we have weekly individual and team winners! That means every week a student and a class from each elementary, middle and high school wins a prize for bringing in the most donations (that’s 3 students and 3 classes)! This week has been full of sweet and cheerful events, as different grades hosted fun and delicious sales that brought the whole school together!
The Cheesier, the Merrier (Pizza Sale)!
Monday kicked off with a special event — the 8th grade boys’ pizza lunch sale. Since the older boys aren’t allowed on the sisters’ side, the girls stepped up and sold the pizza for them! It was absolutely adorable watching the girls deliver pizzas to classrooms during lunchtime, ha\nding out the pre-ordered slices to eager students. The whole event had a warm and friendly vibe, with everyone working together to make it a success.
For those with Sweet Teeth, and a Vibrant Taste!
On Tuesday, the 4th grade girls took over with a fantastic ice cream and handmade jewelry sale. They set up two tables right beside their teachers in the hallway, where they sold cute bracelets they’d made themselves and served ice cream to anyone with a sweet tooth. It was a bit chaotic in the best way possible, as the tables were packed with excited students eager to buy some unique jewelry or enjoy a chilly treat. The energy was high, and the students couldn’t wait to get their hands on something special!
Warm Meals for a Big Goal
Wednesday brought a mouthwatering spread, courtesy of the 11th grade girls. They had platters of rice and chicken, sandwiches, and refreshing juice for sale. The girls worked hard to pack up the orders and roll the food around to different classrooms on carts. It was a great way to share a delicious lunch with classmates while supporting the school’s efforts. Students were happily munching away as the lunch rolled in, bringing smiles all around.
The Boys’ Bake Sale
Thursday’s highlight was the 2nd grade boys’ bake sale, which turned into a community affair! Moms and teachers joined the fun to assist the kids. The table was filled to the brim with donuts, cupcakes, tea, cotton candy, and chocolates. There was so much to choose from that it was hard to decide! The scene was a little chaotic, with excited little ones and hijabis crowded around, but it was all part of the fun. The treats were a hit, and everyone left with something sweet in hand.

Every sale brought its own unique charm, and it was heartwarming to see students and families coming together to make these events a success. Can’t wait to see what next week holds!
