Over a series of staff orientations the week before the start of the 31st year of Al-Huda School, Imam Safi Khan presented a series of heartfelt reminders to all Al-Huda School and Dar-us-Salaam teachers and staff, including our online Al-Huda Global School team.
The series, titled Heart to Heart, aimed to help everyone enter the new academic year with renewed intentions, reminding them to keep the worship of Allah as their focus, and the core of everything they do—whether it’s teaching, building maintenance and repairs, or even working in marketing and fundraising.
Dar-us-Salaam has over 160 full and part-time employees across the entire organization, including Al-Huda School, Al-Huda Global School, and dozens of departments and offices.
Staff orientation topics included the importance of upholding the Amanah (trust) each staff member has been given by Allah, letting go of the ego, leading with mercy, and the importance of Tawakkul (relying upon Allah) and resilience in the work that everyone has to do.

“We are an Allah–Inspired community. Whatever work we do, we always strive to put Allah first, above all else. The work everyone does at Dar-us-Salaam is worship in action for the sake of Allah. For our teachers at Al-Huda School, that means providing Allah–Inspired classrooms that nurture and raise Allah– Inspired graduates: Muslim youth who are ready to become the torchbearers of Islam beyond high school.”

“I am so grateful for these orientation sessions,” said one staff member. “The reminders presented by Imam Safi Khan have been grounding for me, reminding me of why I work at Dar-us-Salaam, and helping me fall in love with this community even more. It’s an honor to work here and be a part of such an Allah–Inspired community–as Imam Safi calls it. May Allah accept all the work we do for His sake, Ameen.”
