Back to School season is in full swing, and, with the increased cost of living, buying school supplies is a challenging expense that many families face–especially those with multiple children.
On Sunday, August 10, 2025, our social services department Ansaar-ul-Birr partnered with local nonprofit Helpers to Good to distribute backpacks and school supplies to local families in need, in hopes to offset some of the financial burden that comes with this time of year.

“We provided 600 backpacks full of school supplies and 450 hot meals to the families that showed up,” said Sister Bibi, head of our Ansaar-ul-Birr department. “We want to help the community as best we can, and the food was something we hoped would bring an extra smile to their faces and comfort to their hearts. Dar-us-Salaam is a community of love and hope, and we’re here to serve everyone who needs our help, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.”

Thank you to our donors, our dedicated team of volunteers, and our youth who showed up to help distribute the supplies. May Allah allow every smile you helped spread weigh heavily on your scale of good deeds, Ameen.
