The College Park City Council has made Maryland history! By the mercy of Allah and the support of Muslim and non-Muslim allies alike, the month of January has officially been declared as Muslim American Heritage Month. The proclamation was officially signed by our Dar-us-Salaam community member and City of College Park Mayor, Br. Fazlul Kabir, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at City Hall.
This recognition honors the contributions of Muslim Americans in the past and the present, and reflects our shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respect.
A special thank you to everyone who attended the City Council meeting to testify and stand in support of Muslim voices in America — your presence truly made a difference.
