Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to share with our community an important milestone we have been working towards for a couple of years now.
Last week, a new security fence was installed around the Dar-us-Salaam Community Campus, made possible through a Grant awarded to Al Huda Inc/Dar us Salaam by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP). Alhamdulillah, Dar-us-Salaam was awarded $117,094.00 for the FY 2026 Protecting Against Hate Crimes Grant (PAHC). Funding through this reimbursement opportunity is available to Nonprofits, including faith-based organizations, to provide support and security enhancements to facilities and protected groups that may be targeted for hate crimes.
An amount of $100,000 from the awarded grant has been approved to fund the installation of Entry and Exit Barrier Arms with a Traffic Island at the facility’s entrance and exit. In addition, the grant will support the installation of press-point fencing around the property to secure the grounds and facility from unauthorized access and potential intruders.
As the fencing now encloses the entire Dar-us-Salaam perimeter, we are also planning to add a gated access point to further enhance security and ensure controlled entry and exit.
The additional $17,094.00 was awarded as supplemental funding and will be used for security personnel services during the month of Ramadan.
Alhamdulilah, the new fencing strengthens campus security and helps maintain a safe, respectful, and purpose-driven environment, ensuring that the campus remains dedicated to worship, learning, and positive community engagement. This added measure supports responsible stewardship of the space and enhances peace of mind for families, students, and visitors.
The new security fence is a milestone and a direct reflection of the strength that we exhibit as a community. May Allah allow us to make use of this space in the most efficient manner, and to continuously put forth efforts that would benefit the community as a whole.
