About the Speaker
Walida Mukhtar is a dedicated mental health therapist with over a decade of experience in providing compassionate care to individuals facing diverse psychological challenges. She holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from George Mason University and is a licensed therapist specializing in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions.
Throughout her career, Walida has worked in various settings, including community mental health centers, substance abuse centers, and schools, fostering a safe and non-judgmental environment for her clients. Her approach integrates evidence-based techniques tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs, empowering them to navigate through anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
Walida is passionate about mental health advocacy and regularly conducts workshops and seminars to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health. Walida currently works at Al-Huda School in College Park, Maryland as a School Social Worker.
In her spare time, Walida enjoys spending time with her family, reading, taking classes, and volunteering with local organizations
