Our elders are the pillars of our community. They had laid the foundation for this beautiful deen to grow in the nooks and crannies of this country, and Alhamdulilah, we are reaping the rewards as a result of it to this day.
In our community, our elders are of diverse backgrounds. They are very respected and an important part of our community. Ansaar-ul-Birr have several events exclusively geared for our elders that give them opportunities to learn, meet others, and spend time together in an engaging atmosphere, said community member, Zenora Khan
Sr. Bibi Muhammad, from Ansaar-ul-Birr community Services, underscored the vital role our senior community members play. She emphasized our dedication to organizing various yearly gatherings exclusively for them and stressed the importance of assuring our elders that they remain cherished, in our thoughts, and Dua.
Our elders are such an important part of our community, so we make sure to have several events each year exclusively for them. We all need to make sure our elders know that they aren’t forgotten,” said Sr. Bibi Mohamed from Ansaar-ul-Birr Community Services.
This brings us to our next event, In sha Allah to be conducted on the 24th of September. The upcoming Elderberries event will start off with a talk by Imam Safi, followed by providing a space to check the attendees’ blood sugar and blood pressure, or consult with the doctor or therapist of their choice privately. While they wait, they are cordially invited to enjoy a brunch buffet.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever does not show mercy to our young ones, or acknowledge the rights of our elders, is not one of us.” (Sahih, Musnad Aḥmad)
Hoping to see our Elderberries soon In sha Allah. Make sure to share this post around!
