Imagine for 3 years you see your son dedicate his life to the Quran. Daily memorization at Hifzh school, followed by evenings of reviewing his ayat and committing it to memory with his father and sister. Seeing him flourish in stages, finishing one Juz after another until finally, you attend his Hifzh graduation.
This is what Hawa Abdella, the mother of 13 yr old Hamim Elias, our most recent Hifzh School graduate, witnessed last Friday, September 28, 2023 at Dar-us-Salaam.
“I’m so emotional,” said Hawa, her eyes glistening as she struggled to find the words to convey the overwhelming sense of pride and joy overtaking her. “The feeling is indescribable. His father sat down and checked his hifzh everyday, and rewarded him for every milestone he reached. The journey was long, but time has flown by so fast and now we’re here at Hamim’s graduation.”
“Alhamdulillah, it is a huge blessing,” said his father Elias Beyan. “I have never thought about anything greater than this accomplishment. Hamim being in Hifzh school created a positive shift in our home – I had never even read a Juz in a week prior to Hamim’s enrollment. This positive shift will remain in our home as Hamim continues to review the Quran in shaa Allah. I want to thank his teachers and the whole institute. May Allah bless the staff and everyone at Dar-us-Salaam, because without them this wouldn’t have happened.”
“We’re so proud of you, Hamim,” said Br. Haroon Baqai as he praised Hamim on his graduation. “We take inspiration from your journey, and how your father planned and had a thought out strategy for you to complete your hifzh.”
Congratulations to Hamim Elias, our 128th graduate from Hifzh School, and to his family on such an amazing accomplishment. May Allah continue to allow the light of the Quran to illuminate your lives.
