The National Council of Nigerian Muslim Organizations is a non-profit established to help unite Nigerian Muslims in America by promoting cooperation, charity, and unity and propagating the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah in their communities. As part of their annual convention this year themed “United Upon Goodness: Shaping the Future,” they dedicated a charity visit to Al-Huda School, where they got to tour the campus, attend a Hifzh graduation, and left a generous donation to the school.
“NCNMO wanted to start off their annual convention with a sadaqah, and the word reached me from the president of Ansaar-ud-Deen Masjid, which is just down the road from Dar-us-Salaam,” said one of our Dar-us-Salaam staff members and marketing associates.
“Our Huffazh have been serving the Nigerian community at Ansaar-ud-Deen for many years in the month of Ramadan, and we have a good relationship with them, Alhamdulillah. The current president of the masjid is Dr. Tasleem Adetoro, who is related to our Hifzh teacher Br. Zahid Adetoro. He called me and said that the NCNMO is looking to donate sadaqah for their convention, and recommended that Dar-us-Salaam reach out to them and oblige their request, which we did.
“Alhamdulillah, it was a wonderful turnout and we hosted many of their guests – they were the leadership of Nigerian Muslims representing different masajid across the country. Some of them came from as far as California, Oklahoma, and Texas. Br. Haroon Baqai, Principal of Al-Huda School, talked to them about our organization and gave them a tour of our campus. Then they witnessed the Hifzh graduation ceremony of our 155th graduate, Rayyan Abraham, and attended Jumuah Salah with the Dar-us-Salaam community at Knights of Columbus.
“This visit was a beautiful moment of brotherhood between two organizations established to spread the message of Islam and instill the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah within their communities, Alhamdulillah. We thank NCNMO for this kind gesture, their visit, and the generous $1,000 they gave towards Al-Huda School. May Allah bless all their work and efforts, Ameen.”
