Sacred Bond Hosts First In-Person Matchmaking at Dar-us-Salaam Article

In today’s world of digital marriage apps and profiles which reduce people to pictures and tag lines, finding a spouse has become a tedious task.

That’s where Sacred Bond, Dar-us-Salaam’s matrimonial service, steps in. With personalized matchmaking, verified profiles, and wali involvement, our matchmaking teamhelps you find the one in a halal, Allah-centric way. The best part? It’s all done through a diligent process that prioritizes Islamic values, safety, privacy,
    and respect.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Sacred Bond held its first ever in-person matrimonial event at Dar-us-Salaam.

“Normally, many Islamic matrimonial events put brothers and sisters on the spot, and they feel pressured to speak on the microphone and introduce themselves,” said Br. Nazar Mohl, one of our Sacred Bond volunteers. “I’ve seen first-hand how awkward and anxious people get in these situations, and at the end of the day, they’re not even guaranteed a match after putting themselves through that ordeal. For this event, however, the Sacred Bond team diligently reviewed over 100 applications and sat down to personally match people together. That way, when they came to our event, they had matches already aligned beforehand, which helped ease that anxiety for them. Alhamdulillah, the team managed to arrange a total of 19 matches, and everyone else who didn’t get a match was refunded their registration fee.”

The event started with some lunch accompanied by a brief introduction and lecture by Imam Safi Khan on the importance of istikhara – the du’aa in which Muslims seek counsel from Allah to guide them to what is best for them. “Before you go ahead and talk to each other, pray two rakas and make the du’aa of istikhara. This way, you know that whatever the outcome of today’s meeting is an answer and a guarantee from Allah. Either He opens a door for you towards a new chapter in your life, or He will be protecting you from what isn’t good for you,” said Imam Safi to the attendees.

After Asr salah, each couple was then chaperoned to their own private room to talk in the presence of a wali. Sacred Bond had also appointed several carefully chosen men to stand in as a wali for the sisters who didn’t have one on hand.

“As a stand-in wali, I felt that the match I was assigned to chaperone was very well made. The couple was compatible on so many levels and the conversation flowed easily. I was impressed with the level of attention and care the Sacred Bond team had gone through to ensure that the matches they made were best suited to each individual. I’m hoping to see many of our matched couples move towards marriage in shaa Allah.”
