The biggest quest in life for a mu’min (believer) is to strive to reach Jannah one day. An even bigger ambition is to be among the best of the best, in the presence of our beloved Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. Thankfully, we have been given clear guidance on how to achieve exactly that.
What if you were told you could be as close to the Messenger of Allah as your middle and forefinger are? A heart filled with love for the beloved Prophet ﷺ would find ultimate joy in that. Umm Sa’id bint Murra al-Fihri related from her father that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“I and the guardian of an orphan will be in the Garden like these two.” (His two fingers) — Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 133
Our Mission
At Dar-us-Salaam, one of our primary goals is to ensure everyone in this community has a chance to live their lives to the fullest, in a manner that is best for them in this dunya and the akhirah. For children, the education and environment they grow up in matters most in shaping who they become. This is why we emphasize, time and again, the need for Islamic education and an Islamic environment where children feel safe, welcomed, and confident to be proud Muslims.
Running a school with the right facilities and standards doesn’t come easily. But our desire to provide equal opportunity to every family in our community has never wavered.
For more than thirty years, Al-Huda School has stood as one of the most prominent Islamic institutions in the United States, nurturing Muslim children into confident, grounded, purpose-driven contributors to society. Hundreds of our graduates have gone on to become trailblazers in medicine, engineering, education, and Islamic sciences, carrying their faith with them every step of the way. Every one of them received this education regardless of their family’s financial background, by the aid of Allah and the generosity of hearts like yours.
That is why this summer, we are counting on your generosity for Two Fingers — The Al-Huda School Orphan Scholarship Campaign — named for that very promise, to stand as close to him ﷺ as the two fingers. At the heart of our mission is a simple yet urgent conviction: in a world that pulls our youth toward distraction and away from their fitrah (innate nature we are born with instilled by Allah), a firm grounding in Aqeedah (belief and creed) is not optional; it is essential. With the Two Fingers campaign, this becomes possible for the families where such an education merely remains a dream. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to sponsor the education of 9 orphans for the coming school year. In sha Allah, we are confident that this can be done when we come together as a community.
A Zakat-eligible Opportunity
Tuition at Al-Huda School remains below the median for comparable private schools in the DMV area, yet many families still struggle to meet payments. Scholarships ensure no child is ever turned away from an Islamic education. Every child deserves to learn in an environment where Allah is remembered, the Qur’an is honored, and Islamic character is nurtured.
Your gift can remove the financial barriers standing between a child and the Islamic education they desperately need. And since this is a Zakat-eligible opportunity, we ask you to give generously and to share this mission with others, in sha Allah. After all, wouldn’t we all love to be in the company of Rasool Allah ﷺ?
Your support touches every corner of this institution and community: Any funds received beyond the amount needed for orphan scholarships will be used to support other students receiving financial aid at Al-Huda School.
Every dollar you give helps preserve a legacy of thirty years, and helps write the next thirty and more, bi’idnillahi ta’aala. Give today, and be part of a child’s journey towards success in the world and the hereafter, and your journey towards Jannah, and the company of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
